GenDEN groups provide a safe and welcoming space for families with gender-expansive children. While the primary focus is on supporting gender-diverse children from preschool through middle school, families with children of all ages are always welcome to join. How do GenDEN Support Groups work?

Parents and caregivers meet separately from the children participating in an unstructured, open discussion where they can share experiences, ask questions, and exchange resources. This is a supportive environment designed to help parents connect with others facing similar challenges. The group is facilitated by parents of transgender children, not by licensed psychologists or social workers.

While parents meet, the children engage in supervised activities like crafts, games, and free play in a nearby space. There are no formal discussions about gender identity; the goal is simply for the kids to have fun and feel confident being their authentic selves.
